About Me

Hi folks, and welcome to my life! I'm Sam, I'm married and I live in Hampshire. I'm originally from Durham in north east England so technically I'm a bit of a traitor for moving down south, but I like it and the weather is warmer!

I turned 30 in August 2013 which, according to my husband Mr P, makes me positively ancient. However, as I haven't suffered a sudden outbreak of wrinkles or grey hair and I'm managing to get about quite well without a zimmer frame I'm inclined to think 30 isn't actually that bad!

Mr P and I have been married sunce April 2012 and live in a little house in Hampshire with our husky Keeta, a couple of snakes, a guinea pig and Genghis the grumpy bearded dragon.

Outside of work I'm a musician and a bit of an amateur photographer as well as a bit of a beauty addict. I'm also a closet techy geek - I love my gadgets and taught myself enough programming to make a living out of it for a couple of years after uni. In the winter I tend to be a bit of a home body but Mr P and I like to go out having adventures in his land rover, especially in the snow! I think he fancies himself as a bit of a hero, rescuing people and their cars when they get stuck. In the summer, though, we swap to two wheels and a healthy dose of chrome...

This is my pride and joy - my limited edition Suzuki VL800 Volusia cruiser motorbike. Lots of shiny chrome, sparkly paintwork, loud exhaust pipes (because loud pipes really do save lives people!) and a big comfy leather seat. Mr P is entirely to blame for getting me into bikes, but there's no arguing that there's absolutely nothing like spending a sunny day being propelled down an open road by a v-twin engine. You just don't get the same sense of freedom in a car!

So, that's me in a nutshell. I'm down to earth, fairly practical, pretty opinionated and not afraid to get my paws mucky fiddling with machines (I even do my own car repairs). I'm still a girly girl, though! I love make up, skincare and all things beauty but I do have to admit that at the moment I don't have a lot of stuff. A miniscule amount for a 30yr old actually! I suffer with adult acne and until very recently I felt my skin was so bad there wasn't much point buying nice make up as everything looked awful and most skincare I tried didn't seem to help for more than a week or so. However, it's slowly improving to the point where I'm happier and becoming more confident so bring on the slap! Keep checking back and watch my collection grow...
